DVSA : Learner driver research: Text Message Trial
The DVSA are working with The Behaviour Insights Team to send text messages to car test candidates to:
Make sure they’re better prepared to take their test.
Encourage them not to take their test before their ready.
Help keep them safer once they’ve passed.
Between now and March they shall be trialling a variety of texts with safety messages. These will be sent to some learners in the lead up to their driving test or a month after.
If your pupil receives a text message from DVSA, you should reassure them this is a legitimate message and they shouldn’t be concerned.
Some of you might also receive these text messages if you book tests on your pupil’s behalf. If this happens you need not reply.
There is something terribly wrong with this industry when you can earn more cleaning a car than you can teaching someone to drive it.
