In July last year DVLA introduced it’s DVLA skill through Amazon’s Alexa, allowing customers to check their vehicle tax and MOT status. Since July more than 14,000 customers have used it.
In response to the popularity over the smart speaker, DVLA today announced that the skill is now available to use on Google Assistant.
This new channel forms part of DVLA’s aim to test new and innovative ways of providing digital services to its organisations and customers to ensure the most efficient service.
The information available through Google Assistant helps you check the date your vehicle tax is due, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year – this can also be found via gov.uk.
Launched in the UK in April 2017, Google Home devices now account 16% of the smart speaker market, according to the latest YouGov Smart Speaker report. The number of Brits owning a smart speaker device doubled between 2017 and 2018. Google assistant is available on Google Home speakers and over 500 million other devices worldwide, from phones to tablets, 40 brands of vehicles and on devices from over 500 manufacturers.
